Robert Lutey
After beginning his career as a developer of accounting and financial software, Robert migrated to the New York Investment Banking industry where he spent 25 years in progressively senior capital markets roles involving securities pricing, derivatives trading, credit risk management, and portfolio management. He left the industry in 2007 to focus on his family and investing.
Robert became an active investor in public and private equities, fixed income, and real estate funds; hedge funds; and early-stage social impact companies. He and his wife, Yvonne Fu, also a financial industry veteran, established Rational Capital Advisors to apply their skills developed from decades of capital markets experience to help those unfamiliar with the investing landscape put their hard-earned assets to work to achieve their long-term goals.
Robert holds a BA in Mathematics from Rutgers University, an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and an MS in Sustainability Management from Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies. He has his Series 65 license and is also a LEED Green Associate.
Robert enjoys spending time with family, reading, movies, music, exercise, and cooking. He tackles the occasional home DIY project and practices a little classical guitar.
Yvonne Fu
Yvonne has long been a fan of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, for their rational thinking, personal integrity and long-term investment record. A successful 20-year career in financial service industry along with a productive personal investment journey allowed Yvonne to leave the corporate world to focus on investing full time in 2016.
Yvonne has been an active investor in public equities, private funds and social impact venture opportunities. After managing clients’ portfolios on another advisor platform, Yvonne and her husband Robert, a fellow financial industry veteran, established Rational Capital Advisors, to lend their skills and knowledge gained from decades of experience to help individuals and families to navigate the financial markets and achieve their goals.
Yvonne started her career as an Associate at JP Morgan and was a Managing Director at Moody’s Corp in NYC. She holds a a Ph.D. in Operations Management and a MBA from Rutgers University, and a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University in China. She has her Series 65 license since 2016.
Yvonne enjoys books, movies, music, travel, running and spending time with her family. She is currently experiencing the joy and challenge of learning to play piano.
